Avoid the habitual use of inhaled corticalsteroids in upper respiratory tract infections in children.
Cough is the most frequent symptom in children who access outpatient primary care settings. The use of aerosolized corticosteroids is widespread in our country for the treatment of cough in upper respiratory tract infections. There is no evidence of its effectiveness and this practice, if prolonged over time, is associated with side effects.
