The document was produced with the application of the RAND/UCLA appropriateness method by a multidisciplinary group of experts from various Italian scientific societies, consisting of pediatricians, neonatologists, infectious disease specialists, pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, pharmacologists, and microbiologists.
