global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-transform: uppercase; font-size: 18px; color: white;\">The campaign \u201cDoing more does not mean doing better &#8211; CHOOSING WISELY ITALY\u201d is promoted by Slow Medicine ETS and is modeled after the Choosing Wisely campaign in the USA.<br \/>It aims to help physicians, other health professionals, patients and citizens engage in conversations about tests, treatments and procedures at risk of inappropriateness in Italy, to arrive at informed and shared choices.<\/h3>\n<p>The campaign is based\u00a0on the responsibility of physicians and other health professionals and on the participation of patients and citizens,\u00a0and is implemented through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the recommendations\u00a0of Italian professional societies and associations about tests, treatments and procedures that have been shown by the currently available evidence not to provide\u00a0any meaningful benefit\u00a0to most patients for whom they are commonly ordered but on the contrary\u00a0may cause patient harm<\/li>\n<li>improvement of the dialogue and the relationship of physicians and other health professionals with patients and citizens, for wise and shared decision making<\/li>\n<li>information, education and training of physicians and other health professionals<\/li>\n<li>development of patient-friendly material about overused tests, treatments and procedures for patients and citizens<\/li>\n<li>communication campaigns to the patients and the public<\/li>\n<li>the implementation of the recommendations, through a partnership between physicians, other health professionals, patients and citizens<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Italian campaign is part of the Choosing Wisely International movement.<br \/>Partners of the campaign are the National Federation of Medical Doctors\u2019 and Dentists\u2019 Orders (FNOMCeO), that of Registered Nurses&#8217;
